A strength and conditioning programme, new changing rooms, a renovated bar area, summer touch rugby programme and excellent numbers at pre season training, has certainly helped the clubs preparation as they look to go for promotion this year.
On the field, recruitment has gone well with the club retaining last years squad and five new players joining the club. Competition for places will be certainly be fierce and the club are still to work on a couple of summer signings.
The side will continue to train at Alianz Park in the winter months and with new sponsorship deals being finalised the off field kit will certainly help the professional appearance of the squad.
Head of rugby and level 3 coach Phil Smith has been delighted with the work done so far. "Last year we had a limited playing base and slow start to the season, coupled with a couple of key injuries we never really hit our straps until after Christmas. Players enjoy the style of rugby we play and this has helped us attract some new signings in key positions as we look to develop as a club."
Club Captain Cian Hynes believes the foundations are in place for a strong season . The renovations to the club, new signings and the intensity shown at the training means there is a real positive feeling round the club at the minute.
