Hendon's player of the year, Billy Burrell, capped off an excellent season by being selected for Middlesex. The ever present scrum half has played an integral part in Hendons successful season and cup final success over London Scottish Lions.
Billy was in the starting line up for Middlesex in their first match in the Bill Beaumont County Championship on Saturday, against Buckinghamshire, which Middlesex went on to win.
1st XV coach Phil Smith said "It is an excellent reward for a dedicated player who always puts 100% in at training and on match day. His improvement this year is a down to his hard work, dedication and ability to improve his skill set"
This would be the first occasion since John Casalaspro played for the County that a Hendon player has had that honour and it is hoped that a couple more may be putting themselves forward next year.
